Overview

[64Cu]Cu-SAR-FAP is a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical imaging agent developed by Clarity Pharmaceuticals for the detection and visualization of solid tumors. It consists of a fibroblast activation protein (FAP) inhibitor, derived from the small molecule UAMC1110, conjugated to a sarcophagine (SAR) chelator and radiolabeled with the positron-emitting isotope copper-64 (64Cu). FAP is a cell-surface protease that is highly overexpressed on cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) within the tumor microenvironment of most epithelial cancers, while remaining nearly undetectable in healthy adult tissues. The SAR chelator provides exceptional stability for the copper radioisotope, preventing transchelation and ensuring high-contrast PET imaging with prolonged tumor retention. This agent is part of Clarity's Targeted Copper Theranostic (TCT) platform, designed to be paired with copper-67 for therapeutic applications.
